Imagine, the west wants to keep africa divided and poor but they allowed the europeans themselves to be united and developed. They’re just hypocrites who favor others what do to but not some.

Billions and billions of dollars at stake here. If the west goes to war with China, that will stop the development of Africa immediately.
An undeveloped Africa also helps the western charities grab hundreds of millions of dollars over the decades by painting Africa as an impoverished and undeveloped continent. There are less and less places on earth for the western charities to sound their bugle and automatically collect large sums of monies from their kind hearted donors. With hundreds of millions of dollars at stake…… What are the western charities going to do? Watch Africa rise up and develop with the help of China? Or try to disrupt the process?
In just 10–15 years of intervention, China helped 700M Africans gain access to electricity for the first time in their lives. The west couldn’t do this in 250 years.
No doubt all Africans will have access to electricity in less than 20 years if no sabotage comes along.
China wishes everyone become stable and wealthy, so that both parties can benefit from trading with each other. Win-win.
More wealthy African nations buying more Chinese goods and services and hiring their engineering and construction companies, and more Chinese buying African precious gems, woods, textiles, fruits and nuts, food products, safari tours, precious metals and minerals, natural resources, raw materials and other exports of Africa.
If Africa and Africans are kept poor and undeveloped…… that’s no good for anyone except for those who want to loot Africa instead of trading fairly with Africa.
Could the west have done for Africa like what China did?
Of course they CAN… if they wanted.
But they DON’T WANT to.
That’s the entire crux of it.
P. S. Though I am from a developed country, I sincerely wish Africa and Africans all the very best, under the beautiful clear blue sky. Get rid of the horrible shackles of the colonial past, and allow no sabotage from within or without. Always be vigilant.

What?! I’m a US citizen. I have a broad circle of friends and acquaintances scattered around the world who are interested in politics and international affairs. I don’t know “westerner” who is jealous of Africa, or who even cares whether the Chinese beautify Africa, as you suggest. If Africa wants to let China beautify it with civil infrastructure development, fine. (I would be interested in why China has to do it, and Africa can’t step up and take charge itself…)
I’m genuinely interested in what specifically causes you to feel that the US is afraid, that we don’t like Chinese trade with Africa, and why you think that the US is spreading falsehoods and wants to stop Chinese involvement in African development. What recent specific action/falsehoods can you point me to where the US (or EU, or UK) has taken action to hinder infrastructure development in any African country (excluding Libya which is another story altogether). I appreciate your feedback on this, as I am very interested in your perspective and actually not well versed in development taking place in Africa. Thanks.

We think of the Chinese as strategic partners with a win/win outcome and the results are there for all to see. Today in Africa, we have High speed trains through the Chinese, world class malls, sports stadiums, highways and freeways, good railway infrastructures which our colonial masters never did.
Politically the Chinese never interfered in our political systems, but still invest massively. Over the years that the Chinese have been involved in Africa, we have never witnessed any of their military or political involvement, despite the billions invested in Africa.

The Sino-African relationship is at least 2 millennia old.
Starting around 200 BC China traded with East African industrialists who processed manganese steel and made artifacts (furniture, weapons, tools, utensils) which the Chinese imported. This trade went on until 1400 AD when the Arabs, Portuguese, Germans and British showed up and, shortly struggled among themselves and colonized us.
In the 1600 years of Afro-Chinese trade, neither party even showed a hint of wishing to colonize the other.
As China was being destabilized with opium and violence by the Euro-Americans in a bid to colonize her, the same people were busy spreading war in Africa, enslaving our people and colonizing the land.
Eventually, in the 50’s, China became a nation again as Africans were struggling for economic independence. She was embargoed and chose to stick to her civilization and develop herself. But, at the same time, poor as she was, she helped liberation movements with training, weapons, other equipment and even uniforms to the freedom armies in Algeria, Mozambique, Angola, Guinea Bissau, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Azania. She also gave moral support to Kenya and all other African countries struggling for freedom.
In 1971, Africa returned the favor by voting China not only into the UN, but also the Security Council where China has used her veto in favor of Africa many times.
Meantime, since China developed through her own resources including civilization, unlike euro-America which developed via colonizing and enslaving Africans and other people, she became wealthy.
Africa, still fighting for economic and cultural liberation, decided to cooperate with China for mutual progress.
This is what is happening now.
But I think that the biggest benefit of the Afro-Chinese relationship will be the demonstration by the Chinese that if a people retain their cultures and work hard, their society becomes prosperous.
Currently, Africa runs of cultural systems derived from Indo-European civilization instead of our own which is why we are poor.
