No. India simply can’ afford a war of any kind with China. But India being a nuclear state and ally with powerful countries like US, Britain, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Israel, Iran, Australia,etc , China can’t afford a war with India.
China has a bigger standing army than India, better Air Force and Army than India, more numbers of Nuclear war heads, more missiles, more tanks, fighter crafts, better guns than India. Also China has better economic backing with themselves.
印度压根就承担不起任何规模的对华战争
不过印度作为一个核国家，而且与美国、英国、俄罗斯、日本、韩国、以色列、伊朗和澳大利亚等强国结盟的国家，中国也打不起对印战争。
中国维持着一支比印度军队更庞大的现役军队，核弹头比印度多，导弹、坦克、战机和大炮等都比印度多。
而且中国经济更发达，能对战争提供的力度更大。

Yes, there should be war between India and China.but, in the field of education, modernization,improving social life of people, help other poor countries also to develop. India and china should join hands together to make it Asian Century. India with 1.3 billion population and 3rd largest economy on ppp and 6th largest on nominal basis and china with largest economy on ppp and 2nd on nominal basis can make happy and progressive asia by extending their trade with central asia and east asia with neighbhouring countries.
在教育、现代化、人们社会生活的改善、帮助穷国发展等领域，印度和中国就该竞争。

Originally Answered: Is India capable of war against China?
India is more than capable of defending itself If China starts a war. If India starts a war against China where china has to defend itself (which is unlikely to happen), India doesn’t have a chance. Even mighty US was not able to defend Vietnam.
Though war will be fought between two countries, International support is important here. India didn’t cross LOC during Kargil (morally correct) and hence US and many other western countries opened with us, which is a bigger gain.
China or India, both are looking to improve their economies and do more business with the world. Waging a war against each other is the worst that they can do to halt this great economic growth.
如果中国对印开战，印度完全有能力自卫。
如果印度对华开战，那么守方就是中国。这不大可能发生，印度没有机会的。
就连强大的美国也没能守住越南（南越）
虽然战争是两个国家之间爆发的，不过国际支持也很重要。

I do not think that India can win War from China. As I am working in China from last 2 years. What I experienced is:
1. China has a lot of money to spend on War.
2. Manufacturing Capacity of Ammunition and other war material. India is dependent on other countries much more than itself.
3. Even India create problems for shipping in Indian Ocean. China already strategically built rail line to Europe for trading. So India cannot create very big problem in business / everyday life.
不觉得印度能打赢对华战争。过去2年里，我在中国工作。
以下是我的经历：
1、打仗的话，中国有的是钱。
2、中国的武器弹药能自给自足，而印度依赖其他国家
3、即使印度在印度洋给航运造成困难，中国已经打通了一条通往欧洲的货运铁路线路，所以印度对中国贸易的打击不会太大。
4. China has a very large land area as per population, So the human causalities on India side will be much more than China. China is not so much populated nearby Border as compare to India side.
5. Pakistan is ally of China and it gives a great advantage to China Geographically.
6. India can not win war alone. It needs allies like Russia, US, Japan Afghanistan to interfere,

Which could possibly looks like a World War. Because if every developed country helped to defeat China. Then there will be a scarcity. As China is the biggest manufacturing destination at the current time. and No country can fulfill the manufacturing demands on their own.

China is 1 of the super power in the world. If war started, China will fight for their prestige. Chinese people are the biggest billionaires of the world, no doubt they will support their govt. financially in the worst scenarios.

Where as India is still fighting with Corruption and tax stealing inside the country like many other developing countries.
My conclusion is that no developed country will take so much risk.

No….India cannot defeat china in full fledge war….but that does not mean china will win.
China is much more powerful than India in almost everything.
but…..sometimes numbers lie.
India has strategic and geographical advances over china

ADVANTAGE 1
See the number of standing army of china. Its 2,255,000. Almost one million more than India; but geographically China is three times bigger than india. China shares territorial border with almost 18 countries thats why it needs that much standing army. The interesting thing about china is they have border disputes with almost all neighbours . so they cannot use all army against India even in full scale war.
中国现役军队多达225.5万人，比印度军队多了100万左右。
国土面积方面，中国比印度大3倍；中国与18个国家接壤，所以要维持如此庞大的军队。
有趣的是，印度几乎与每个邻国都存在边界纠纷。所以一旦中印爆发全面战争，中国是无法动用所有军队来对付印度的。
India shares borders with 7 countries and it have borders disputes with only pakistan and China. All others are good friends
Geographycally India is uniquely located. It is surrounded by sea to three sides with 7500 km coastline. So no threats from those sides. Most of army of India is in North and northwest along china and pakistan respectively.

India and China shares 4057 km border. Again this is not smooth border . There is himalayan mountain range in between them . China have built roads and facilities in Tibetan area, not near to himalayas or border area.
In a war attacking to defending ratio is 1:3. This ratio will further decrease in mountainous region.
Considering these all facts along territorial border India have advantage.

中国已经在西藏地区修建了公路等设施，但是在边界地区或靠近喜马拉雅山的地区还没修。
正常情况下，攻守双方的比例要保持3比1，然而在山区这一比例要进一步扩大。
考虑到以上种种因素，其实印度是有优势的。

Now come to Indian Ocean. Indian navy is considered strongest navy in indian ocean. True china is cathing up fast but(I am considering if war broke out in coming 1–2 years)indian will have upper hand in immediate war.
China is still has one more weakness. It import 60% crude oil. all this oil pass through Indian ocean. If war broke out, it will be next to impossible for them to transport oil unless russia helps them. But again as it will be road transport, it will cost them dearly.

没错，中国在迅速追赶，然而未来1-2年内，一旦爆发战争，印度将占上风。
中国还有很多软肋。比如，60%的原油要经过印度洋。一旦战争爆发，除非俄罗斯帮助他们，否则中国几乎无法运输原油。
剩下就是公路运输了，不过成本是昂贵的。

Indian army is fighting insurgies in kashmir for many decades. They have fought almost 4 wars . They know how to fight in mountanious regions much better than chinese troops.

对比中国军队，印度军队具备丰富的山地战经验。
Advantage 4
look at the western border of India and China. India has much more bases in that region so india can supply necessary things to army much more effectively
Now look at eastern border,Indian bases are more than chinese fighting bases and are nearer to china
In war speed and time matters,India has advantage on this side too.(you must have wondering why chinese bases are so less along Indian borders this is because chinese population is concentrated on eastern side than western side. As they have border and sea dispute with eastern countries their many base are along those border)

打起仗来，兵贵神速，时间是宝贵的。印度在这方面具有优势。

So if war really broke out( it never will, i am quite sure) nobody will win.China do have more numbers but India have strategic and geographical advantages .
Here I have not considered nuclear weapons . If both countries use them both are at loss. Even in full scale war they will not use nuclear weapons
所以，一旦爆发战争，没有赢家。
中国的军队和武器更多，但是印度具有战略和地缘优势。
这里，我还没考虑核武器呢。如果两国都动用核武器，那么双方都是输家。
即便爆发全面战争，两国还是不会动用核武器的。
从以上评论中可以看出，不少印度网友还是能认清事实的，一旦中印发生冲突，印度劣势更加明显一些。清醒的敌人才可怕，因此我们既要有自信，也不能忽视印度人的实力，学会尊重对手永远不会错。大家怎么看？
